On today’s rhetorical devices test, was it easier to recognize devices from their definitions or identify them in quotations? Explain why, and discuss a device that challenged you, if any. What did this experience reveal about how well your study habits prepared you?

Prompt Response: It was easier to recognize the devices by their definitions because I studied them more than finding them in a text and I feel they are harder to identify. A device that challenged me were similes, I am used to the definition they gave us in elementary school, I realize that similes and metaphors are similar because they both make comparisons but similes make comparisons using words like so and than. My study habits are not that good because I always do it last minute but even though I did not study, I still remember some of the rhetorical devices we went over from making our own in class. Summary: We did our blog post in class and took our test. Reflection: If we learn rhetorical devices we can do rhetorical analysis easily and in time for our AP exam.
